A Very Happy New Year to all my Readers!!

A human mind is very inquisitive in nature. Throughout the ages, humans have undertaken treacherous journeys across vast oceans to explore and discover new places. There have always been a few risk takers and pioneers in history who accomplished great things. And future generations are still indebted to their courage.
If Columbus did not have courage, people would have still believed the world is flat and America would have been unknown.
If Wright Brothers did not display innovations and courage to beat the odds by creating heavier than air flying machines, today’s generations would not have realized the benefits of air travel.
In a similar way, we do not fully realize the benefits of space Exploration and space travel will have for future generations. Space is filled with near inexhaustible quantities of natural resources which can be tapped. Maybe in the next century, humans may even colonize the space.
It is often argued that there is still a lot of poverty, malnutrition and humanity must.
Solve these problems first before trying to conquer space. But what is often overlooked in such argument is that the total amount spent on space research and exploration in the world is such a miniscule amount that it would have no affect on the global problems.
Art is a broad term for various creative activities coming into picture. Here are the major types of art forms:
Architecture is a form of art. It is the art of designing spaces in which we live. It is not just limited to designing buildings but it has whole lot of other design factors and theories to be taken into consideration.
An Architectural designer is basically an artist endowed with the gift of creativity and imaginative genius. People could be imaginative and creative in different ways. It is not necessary that they have to become architects.
It is easy to define Architecture but the word has far deeper meaning than it implies. While you study Architecture, you get to study various fields of human endeavor, including Art, History, Material Science, Physics, Engineering… anything and everything that can help improve the living environment of human beings. It is the most diverse subject you can find. And yet, this field attracts the most creative and romantic minds in the world.
I have written this article so that Architecture students and Architects can share their views and opinions and their experience in the process of learning the art of Designing….In this article, I will talk about how our creative genius takes a downward trend when we reach a higher stage in our course…
In my previous article, I happened to mention how the creativity of Architecture students is impacted in a technical way.
“At the beginning of our course, we are not much aware of the conventional forms or logical design solutions. We are extremely creative when we are unaware of the actual process of transforming our project into reality but later on, as we progress with our course, we tend to restrict ourselves”.
This is a very interesting topic to discuss about. Readers out there, if you read this article, please do write about your own experiences so we could all get more of exposure to how people all around the world think and deal with it….
An artist is a person with exceptionally innovative and creative skills. His mindset, his thought process is all influenced by the surroundings he lives in. Designing an Artist’s House is of great significance to begin the learning process of design.
This project was given to us by the University in the first year of the Architecture course. This is a project where we could explore our creativity to the fullest. At the beginning of our course, we are not much aware of the conventional forms or logical design solutions. We are extremely creative when we are unaware of the actual process of transforming our project into reality but later on, as we progress with our course, we tend to restrict ourselves. Anyway, we will not get into a discussion on that topic.
Coming to the case study part, case study is like the backbone of our design. We have to study the existing structures to determine the requirements. Case studies are necessary not just for an Architecture student but this is a part of design process which the Architect has to carry out for his entire life.
As I have mentioned in the title above “Case study of Luxurious Homes”, the case study of an Artist’s House is limited to Luxurious Homes because it involves creativity. So studying more of creative places helps us explore our own creative genius.
What do you do when you go on a Case study?
Case study means study of a case (project) which includes all its elements of design. The structure (home) that you are studying has various advantages and disadvantages which you have to work on. Earlier, in one of my articles, we discussed the detailed process of performing a case study. Those factors also have to be included into this case study process.
