Slowly but surely the wellness industry in India is looking up as evidenced by gradual transformation of beauty shops into excellent spaces like salons, day spas and amazing spa retreats.

Spas have evolved based on the services they offer. New trends are fast evolving like day spas, destination spas, medical spas, detox spas etc.

The Indian spas use organic products and traditional processes and soon spas will soon become a way of life when they become pragmatic and affordable with a booming industry.

Spas will soon metaphorise into the ‘New health destination’ for the modern urban middle class.

Spas provide holistic wellness and pamper the basic need – relaxation. Spas have become a popular retreat for one to stay connected with his inner self and achieve a healthy and balanced lifecycle.

Kerala is a well known destination for ayurvedic therapy centres and spas of the highest order. Traditional Indian remedies like ayurvedic treatments and yoga are very popular and when these trendy spa treatments lack authenticity, they trivialize the traditional healing solutions.

People around the world are looking for one stop shop. When we go to a health or fitness centre, we want a place where we can ‘get it all’ which includes having a spa treatment. Spas are the need of the hour. The customer today is lot more aware and conscious of his health and wellbeing and the spas go beyond massages and provide a complete wellness experience.

The fore more task is to create a work environment for dogs. How is this to be promulgated? The place definitely has to have a lot of sun and air that means it has enough light and ventilation. Dogs stacked into A/c gym makes the entire venture very expensive and unnecessary.

The power produced is to be stored in compact batteries, hence does not pose a huge problem.

Housing and resting areas are but a congregation of government standards kennels and animal rights, regularized norms and standards.

Veterinary hospitals are an important necessity to be considered while the design of the Project. The veterinary hospital should in close proximity to the Dog Powerhouse so that the consultation from the animal doctor becomes handy. For the animals around the powerhouse, apart from the inhabitants of the power house itself; facilitation for quick check up and admission for chronic or prolonged problem has to be provided.

Growth and Sustainability

The room for growth is when the power produced is of formidable quantity. The government comes up with different solutions for the elimination of stray dogs but with this project we will be making good use of their power and generate energy for our households. This will also solve the problem of nuisance created by stray dogs.

This will be an important step towards the production of energy using an alternative resource. If the government stands up to provide funds for the mobility of the entire idea, a growth in second can be assured.

Scope and Method of Dog Powerhouse Design

Like we discussed earlier, the design of Dog Powerhouse can be split into four parts for convenience;

In this article, we will discuss in detail, the training methods to be adopted to train the dogs to run the Dog Powerhouse for the generation of electricity. We will also discuss the about the maintenance of the Dog Powerhouse.

The Pariah dog’s adaptations to training and regularized life style needs to experimented under a close watch by the care takers. The slums, most populated colonies of stray dogs have successfully adopted them and trained them to serve their needs. Thus, the results of the experiment towards civilizing the out-casted should yield positive results.

The gears enhanced the power of the training wheels and do not demand the extraordinary course of exercise from the animal. The next question is of handling of numbers. The stray dogs cannot be managed in the packs of more than 50. Hence, the need of segregation and division of small colonies (similar to the colonies in which the pariah dogs breed on streets and in residential localities).

In this article, we will try and understand the concept of Dog Powerhouse and Need for such a Venture.

What is a Dog Powerhouse?

The Dog Powerhouse is a space where in stray dogs about three hundred in numbers are housed. The dogs are trained to run on treadmills or training wheels. The training wheel has dynamos. Gears and inverters attached to it.

Hence a power station is to be formulated where dogs are trained, housed and are used for generating power. This, to rehabilitate the pariah dog or the stray dogs which escaped domestication centuries ago.
